Each year, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) tests new
cars, light trucks, sport utility vehicles (SUVs), and vans, including those that
are especially popular with consumers, are redesigned, or have improved safety equipment.
These vehicles are then rated on how well they protect drivers and passengers during
front and side crashes and during rollover tests using a five-star vehicle rating
system. Five stars indicate the highest safety rating and one star the lowest. We
want AAA New York members to be informed and safe. Check the ratings for the most
up-to-date test results.
